2023 Fall Design Internship

A. Calvin Design LLC is looking for a junior or senior level graphic design college student to join our team as our design intern. We are looking for someone who’d like to start in early September and be available up to 15 hours a week.

We are a woman-owned boutique creative digital marketing and website design agency based in Kent, Ohio, that helps small businesses and non-profits create brands that bring confidence. Responsibilities:

• Design clear engaging graphic communications for print and web. This will include projects such as logo designs, illustrations, flyer designs, social graphics, and even motion graphic designs

• Adhere to brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadlines

• Use graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media

• Collaborate with the design team to develop concepts

• Receive feedback from the owner and lead designer, Amanda Calvin, and clients and make necessary changes

• Assemble final presentation material for printing as needed

Qualifications:

• A junior or senior in a Graphic Design major preferred

• Basic knowledge of layouts, typography, line composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals

• Experience with InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator

• Experience in AfterEffects is a plus!

• Strong creative and analytical skills

• Compelling portfolio of graphic design work

Learning Opportunities:

• How to collaborate with a design team

• Fine-tune your skills in Adobe Design Programs such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects

• Mentorship on starting a freelancing business

Position Details:

• Part-time position.
• Rate: $12/hour.
• Workload: up to 15 hours per week
• Remote work arrangement with a flexible schedule, available for collaboration during EST business hours (9 AM to 5 PM).
